APR's RSC^TM technology is now available for the MK6 GTI in our newest 2.0 TSI RSC^TM Performance Exhaust System. Reflective Sound Cancellation allows for maximum exhaust gas flow while completely eliminating in cabin sound resonance (drone). RSC^TM incorporates innovative technologies developed in conjunction with NASA. With limited use of packing materials and no baffles, RSC^TM allows for a completely straight and free flowing exhaust path through the RSC^TM mufflers. Reflective Cancellation bounces the undesirable sound waves into each other to attenuate the wave and completely eliminate the low frequency tones that create drone. Each RSC^TM muffler is tuned to eliminate specific, undesirable sound frequencies allowing only the engine's desirable exhaust notes to be heard and improving performance.

APR's design specifications and manufacturing requirements result in a 3" mandrel bend stainless steel performance exhaust system unmatched by any other. RSC^TM technology ensures the maximum possible performance increases from any performance exhaust system while maintaining refined and unobtrusive sound inside the cabin.

The Golf Ball Test

The Golf Ball Test is the best way to determine if the exhaust system you've chosen for your turbocharged car is up to the task of handling the power output from your engine. Often times, you'll find that you can't even roll a marble through a traditional muffler system which makes one wonder just how restrictive that free flowing exhaust must really be. Traditional mufflers use baffles and packing material a lot like steel wool to quiet the drone and other unpleasing sounds that occur when developing an exhaust system to make power. Obviously, the more baffles and packing material you add to reduce the unpleasing sound, the more restrictive the system becomes and therefore the opportunity for maximum power output is greatly reduced. APR's RSC^TM mufflers don't use traditional muffler baffles and packing material, RSC^TM incorporates a straight-through design that gives you all of the power of a straight pipe exhaust system plus the comfort in the cabin that comes with absolutely ZERO drone.
