APR's EMCS software is available for the
150 horsepower (112Kw) Golf and the later VVT (Variable Valve Timing)
cars. The software for the Golf is available in a 1.0 bar configuration
and produces 196 horsepower (146Kw) and approximately 240 ft. lbs
(325Nm) of torque. . On the later VVT motor, which also as a different
turbocharger specification, the horsepower gains are increased to
around 207 BHP but with same torque. Our software is designed to
operate within the turbochargers' efficiency range whilst producing
huge increase in low end torque, improved throttle response and a much
smoother, more powerful top end. Unlike other "chip tuning companies",
we do not max out the boost pressure sensor in order to boost spike and
give high initial torque readings. Although this maybe good for
marketing purposes, it not only creates surge during acceleration at
low RPM, but also reduces the life expectancy of the turbocharger
considerably.
The EMCS is operated via a pushbutton that
can be installed anywhere in the car and uses the engine check light on
the instrument cluster to identify program changes.
All APR chip upgrades use
encryption, which serve several purposes. First, it keeps prying eyes
out of our software and prevents lesser companies from copying the chip
and degrading the product. Secondly, the encryption prevents the dealer
from flash programming the ECU. Also, all APR software is undetectable
to a dealers VAG diagnostic tool.
All APR chip software comes with
lifetime free upgrades. There is also a lifetime warranty against
defects in the software or soldering. All chip upgrades have a 30-day
Money Back Guarantee.
EMCS
(Only available for cars with drive by wire) EMCS is available for this car. EMCS is
APR's revolutionary patented Enhanced Modular Chipping System. EMCS is
an industry leading technology that brings many new features to the
automotive enthusiast. EMCS technology was developed exclusively by
Audi Performance & Racing, LLC and demonstrates APR’s continued
commitment to lead the industry with the most technologically advanced
products available.
EMCS consists of three important parts
that work together as a cohesive unit: the EMCS module (which is
soldered to the engine computer board), the EMCS on-board software (the
software that is on the module), and the support software that is used
to program and reprogram the module.
APR’s EMCS is a truly modular system that
allows for future enhancements and features to be added as they are
developed without the need for additional hardware. EMCS makes the
following advanced features possible:
FlipSwitch
Enables you to swap between two or more engine programs on-the-fly
using a pushbutton. All cars have stock and standard chipped program
versions available. Valet, race-gas, and other specialty programs are
available for some models.
Fault Code Erase/Throttle
Body Alignment (FCE/TBA)
Fault Code Erase allows you to erase and reset
engine related trouble codes without having to use a specialty tool.
Throttle Body Alignment allows you to manually perform throttle-body
adaptation.
User Reprogramming and
Reconfiguration
Gives the user the ability to reprogram their ECU with the latest
software updates and to reconfigure their ECU for different preferences
or to function with different hardware. This function requires the
optional programming adaptor.
EMCS PRICING
All APR chips now include EMCS hardware.
EMCS options are available at an additional cost over the normal price
of a chip. Please remember that even if you do not purchase any of the
following options, you will still be able upgrade to these options from
most any internet accessible computer at a later date.
Above the price of the chip for your car,
the following options can be added to your ECU:
